WHAT CUSTOMERS SAY

Our family members have been regulars of Margaret’s Cantina since the previous location many years ago. We love it for our family with all our different dietary needs. They have gluten free options, vegetarian options, and meat for the omnivores in the family. Margaret’s is my favorite place to have lunch with a women friend or a table full of friends because the food is fresh and delicious. Unlike some other Mexican restaurants, I don’t feel bloated and heavy from the food. And for those folks in your group who don’t care for Mexican there are fabulous salads, entrees and great sandwiches. When we have international guests we always take them to Margaret’s Cantina.

We love coming to Margaret’s Cantina. Margaret’s is our favorite Southwestern Restaurant in the Triangle. The food is always fresh with a focus on local ingredientsand at a great price! Also, the margaritas are excellent!!

My family and I took on a self-imposed mission: to find the most authentic Mexican food since we relocated to Chapel Hill from Southern California. We found it: Margaret’s Cantina. From the first bite the freshness of the ingredients, knowledge of preparation and the spirit of baja was evident. The service is grade A and the location at Timberlyne Shopping Center just off I-40 is perfect. There is literally something for everyone on the menu and it will leave no one disappointed. Love this place!

We’ve been regulars at Margaret’s for well over 20 years. We love it because of the good, healthy food, the wonderful friendly staff and the best margaritas we’ve ever had.

I have been a “regular” at Margaret’s for over 21 years and have introduced many friends and family members to their great food and staff over those 2+ decades. I have shared many meals and conversations there! One of my favorite memories was when my co-workers treated me to dinner as my “going away” party before I started my freshman year at UNC. Now I am a professor at UNC and still love Margaret’s as much now as then. I have never been disappointed with a meal there – my go to is the tempeh taco plate and my husband’s is the enchillada style burrito and we both love the nachos. Margaret’s is the best!

I have followed Margaret’s Cantina for a long time. I discovered their food when they were on East Franklin Street. And even thought Margaret “has left building”, Young, the new owner, continues the focus on good food and a sense of community. The new specials add a different flavor to the cuisine. And whether you come to the restaurant alone or with four or more, you can enjoy a home-cooked meal!
